I recently heard a radio interview with Robert Sutton and I was so impressed that I got his book from the library.
Apologies to Admin but there's just no way to block out the Bad Word in the title.
'The A****** Survival Guide - How to deal with people who treat you like dirt'.
It's fascinating.
He has psychology research to back his observations and the book is full of useful strategies for how to reduce the level of toxicity that bullies and narcissists bring into your life.
It's really useful.
If you need strategies, it's a good start.
And he makes a really good point: When you are with someone who treats people like dirt, it's contagious. It spreads to the entire community and reduces civility and productivity, and it makes people physically and mentally ill.
Lots of good advice in this book.
