Lately = "That I am resilient and emotionally strong"! (2) "I am lovable and able to love" (3) "This heartbreak will pass"!

I've been surrounding all distress with self compassion. And so, many times a day I say "poor biggerfish is in distress right now." It helps with triggers, bad feelings, and self condemnation. Now I am realizing just how often I am in emotional pain!

After listening to some you tube of  Ross Rosenberg,  " abserve, don't absorb " reminds me to step back.

One foot in front of the other, one day at a time.

Life is good.

Thanks for this thread! It's lovely reading every one else's!
It is our vocation to prevent the harmful exposure of our inner sanctuary, not only for our own protection but also as a service to our fellow human beings with whom we want to enter a creative communion. Openness loses its meaning when there is no ability to be closed.

You do not have to set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm.

I've got to keep remembering that.

Here's one that a geriatric social worker taught me: "You can't make happy."

At first I used sharpie to write 'I am worth' on my arm where I could look at it several times a day, but also cover it with a sleeve. Stopped after a couple weeks due to warmer weather but it was oddly effective and gave me strength. I am worth doing hard things, because I do deserve to have good things.

Currently using 'I love you' to myself. I read that people who say I love you a lot are often in need of love, and tell my dog all the time lol. I deserve at least as much love as a dog, so here we are.

I'm looking forward to graduating to more complex mantras as i recover. :)

My latest mantra is "Not my job." And I'm finding out just how many things are not my job. It's a shock.
