Scapegoat and Golden child

In my never-ending pursuit of resources to help make sense of the senseless, I ran across these articles and wanted to share.  They address a tragic but common dynamic of a narcissistic family; children cast into roles as scapegoat or golden child.  This hits close to home with me as everyone in my broken family wears their assigned "hat".  I experience intense grief over this and feel really helpless just to watch him destroy hearts and minds to serve his selfish agenda. 

I encourage those in similar situations to be vigilant and get help for your precious kids.  If anyone has any wisdom on this topic, I would be grateful.

It is scary to read stories from adults looking back on this childhood dynamic. But it also sounds like both people found happiness. Let's hope we can all get our kids to that same place!
