Anyone else have no family left?

It's tough. You're far from alone. There are lots of us.

I'm an only child. My kids have no cousins.

We have no babysitting except for my BPD mom. And that obviously has great costs.

My dad lives too far away to be much more than a voice on the phone.

My wife's family is all a 1000 miles away and that's usually for the best, as far as I'm concerned.

Family gatherings as a kid were filled with people and part of you never gets used to not having that anymore (as fraught as that could be).

I feel guilty for not being able to give my kids the kind of experiences I had—even if I didn't always want them.
