Title: New here, a guilt and shame meltdown
Post by: Getaway on June 22, 2021, 11:53:34 AM
Hello everyone,

I am new here.

I had problems with guilt and shame after my PD father, NPD and BPD, made a hoovering attempt yesterday. I was very low contact last time.

His posture and actions were threatening, while he made (fake) excuses, disturbing me while I was having a rest.

That revealed his no care again and unwillingness to do something for it.

Also someone today, he or PD/NPD mother took things I use from the room I use.

Also there were left messages/notes for me. I don't want to read it.

Looks as an escalation with boundaries violations and attempts to suck in again.

Hi Getaway,

I'm new here also and getting lots of help and ideas from reading older posts.

Am I right in assuming you are living with your parents? If so, is it a viable option for you to move out? It sounds like you're well and truly ready to get away (hence the name?).

If you can't get physical distance from them you at least need to set firm boundaries. Privacy is a human right and they need to respect yours. Maybe start by getting a lock on your door?

I don't know if that helps but best of luck and try to let go of the guilt, they want to keep you feeling that way so they can maintain control.

You are right

Yesterday I had talks with some people and got rid of that feelings.
