You are right, PL. And I think the more independence SD wanted as she got to the end of her senior year of high school, the more BM pushed back wanting to keep her dependent, but SD still didn't realize it until she was on her own. Then when SD came back to BM's on break, she missed her autonomy becasue BM wants to keep her dependent. I am very proud of her. But yes, it took a long time. She wasn't viewing things like this last year at this time. Last year she decided to live with BM and we let her go. That was very difficult. But SD's grown a lot since going "away" to school (She is dorming, but it's 15/20 min from my house).
