Basically this is one of the best books (probably the best) book I've read on how to socialize, how communication works, how our brains work in social situations, destructive social situations, etc. This book, along with a textbook on interpersonal communication, are the most important books on how to socialize IMO.

It is heavily based on neuroscience, and it can jump from topic to topic (sexual attraction, the dark triad of PDs, social support, a secure base, etc).

I can't really do it justice in a review. It is a good primer on socialization (both for good and bad) that almost anyone will benefit from.

Thanks for the book review. Does it discuss social development in children? I'm around children a lot and other the last 7-8 yrs have noticed an increase in children with difficulties in social skills (did I phrase that correctly?).
