The thing I liked best about this book was how well the author laid out the daily mechanisms of narcissistic abuse and enmeshment.  For me, it has been so easy to believe the voices that tell me I am spoiled to be complaining because I was housed and fed etc. by my parents so what do I have to complain about?  If you have not experienced it, it's hard to understand how the daily repetition of emotional abuse grinds you down and becomes internalized so you begin doing it to yourself.  I think the author described that process so well.
