Title: Posting communications of others - please read!
Post by: VividImagination on May 18, 2015, 09:09:00 AM
A reminder of our Member Guidelines concerning communications and confidentiality:

"Do not copy the contents of personal communications, email, social media posts, personal messages, texts and telephone conversations verbatim into posts."

Since Facebook and other social media platform posts are often accessible through search engines, the Member Guidelines have recently been updated to include these.

Since many members only receive contact from their FOO via these types of communications, it's natural to want to post these to receive feedback from others. This is a breach of the sender's confidentiality - most of us would feel extremely violated if someone we knew posted the contents of one of our personal and often emotional communications or conversations on a public forum.

You are certainly encouraged to ask for feedback but please paraphrase, being sure to remove all personal identifying information. If you read a post that violates this guideline, please use the "Report to Moderator" button at the bottom right corner of the post.

If you have any questions, please ask me or any member of the moderator/admin team.

Additional note:

• If you post communications that appears to be a verbatim conversation but is actually paraphrased or summarized you need to note such in each and every post.

• If names have been changed that also needs to be noted each post using what looks like real names.

• Posts containing what looks like verbatim quoting of communications or use of real names will have blocks of conversation edited out or entire post pulled.
