This book is life changing. It is different from all the wonderful self-help books I've read. An easy read with a biblical point of view and a fresh look at the life of Joseph, being compared to our life as we are going through something we don't understand, i.e., lost dreams, shattered lives, being falsely accused, ignored and maligned. For me it brought everything into a Godly perspective and an understanding on how God can turn it all around and use our tragedy for something good.
I've read it over and over again as it truly speaks to our life coming Out of the FOG, giving renewed hope and understanding.
Some of the chapter titles are: A Diamond In The Rough
When Our Dreams Are Shattered
From Rags To Riches
When God Puts His Finger On One Man
Starting A New Life
A New Kind of Trial
Falsely Accused and Helpless
Humiliation Today, Exultation Tomorrow
Adria - I am a huge RT Kendall fan and have not read this one. Thank for the recommend!
You're welcome Bloomie. I hope it blesses you as much as it does me. Hugs, Adria
Putting it on my hold list. Thank you! I've thought of Joseph often on this journey, so I can't wait to hear how the author writes about him!
All4Peace,
One of my dear aunts, years ago, wrote me a letter comparing my life to Joseph, how his brothers threw him in a pit and sold him, anyway, how his family deleted him out of their lives, but she reminded me how they meant it for evil, but God meant it for good. I have had that card on my mantle for twenty years as it gives me hope. Then I found the book, "God Meant It For Good." It was confirmation. I was cleaning out my closet the other day and found the book in a box. Thought I had gotten rid of it. I was so happy to find it. I will be reading it again after I am done with my current book. The book is a wonderful reminder of how God knows exactly what He is doing and nothing in our life is for naught. This is a quote from the book, "If God has kept you down and you have been laid aside, it may be that you are one of the special ones. God is saying, I'm going to be the one to exalt you." This book is full of hope and gives peace by reminding us of how much God is in control even when our lives seem out of control. Blessings, Adria.
That is beautiful and gives me goosebumps! My library system doesn't have it but I will look elsewhere. Thank you for sharing--it's a lovely message!
Thank you for sharing, Adria!
You're welcome, NoVoice. :)
Adria, I identifiy with the story of Joseph. And, have always understood the concept as well as some of my own experiences - as having purpose in the pain.
I will order the book to add to my to be read pile, thanks so much.
How lovely of your aunt, btw. Such a gift of the "spirit" - understanding, compassion, hope, faithfulness. That you kept it on your mantle for twenty years - to inspire, lift, rise above, keep hope alive - like a seed planted - and needed to let nurture, grow, spread. So lovely.

You write so beautifully, almost poetic.
