I have realized over the past few years that I have significant CPTSD and was diagnosed with autism finally. This has caused me a gradual decline, I think, in executive functioning.

While doing my inner healing work from being the family scapegoat, what I really want to attain is the ability to keep my life together and in some kind of orderly state.

This is hard as I also have chronic fatigue and ADHD, but I want to get organized. I know it can be done. I just tend to burn out on everything I have to do with my part-time work, looking after an elderly mother, and a dog.

I think what I need to do is put aside a few days and just spend that time putting things away, cleaning out clutter, etc. I don't know why I can't seem to commit, but maybe I will just do what I can an hour a day. I think that is doable!

I also started going back to the gym mainly for my bone health and it boosts my mood.

these sound like great goals

as a fellow traveler on the neurospicy path-  one thing that has helped me is to not use neurotypical standards to evaluate if /when I make the goals I set for myself (was dignosed ODD as a teen, last T felt it was more high functioning autism, what now may be considered PDA)

example- they say just make a list and check off the tasks.   me- I make the list but my mind keeps adding more tasks and I have to keep rewriting the list, so instead of actually doing the stuff on the list I am writing and rewriting it.  a boundary I have with myself now is to pick ONE BIG THING to make sure I get done on the daily.... and it helps.

you've got this!  just remember to be kind to yourself.

cwylie66 - adding another hooray for the goals you are setting, hitting the gym to preserve your health and getting to areas in your home space that you want to.

I'm another one who is a huge proponent of one thing at a time as xredshoesx mentions. I have learned to choose the area that bugs me the most, set the timer for a reasonable amount of time - whatever that is for you, and do what I can within that time. That's it. In time, this has really paid off for me.
