These are oldies but goodies, both based around the framework of Transactional Analysis.
I downloaded both of them a few weeks ago and found them both very helpful.
Some of the language is dated but the basic concepts are quite simple and are helpful both as systems/procedures to use in any relationship.
‘I’m ok, you’re ok’ talks about staying in touch with the one’s Adult aspect, rather than resorting to either the role of the judgemental Parent (there’s also a nurturing Parent role which is more positive) or the reactive Child (again, as with the Parent role, there is also a positive side to the Child role: the playful/creative Child role, which is imperative to a healthy life).
The Adult role focuses on using data to respond, rather than resorting to controlling judgements or reactive emotions when in relationships. I found it helpful information in terms of how to respond when dealing with pwPDs.

‘Games People Play’ is a quirky little book, but has some interesting things to say about how to recognise and extract oneself from unhelpful conversational and relationship dynamics.

Some great ideas in both these books if you can put some of the dated language to one side.
I’d be interested to hear if others have read either of these books.
