My BPD mother and father are coming for coffee tomorrow.  I have not seen them in 3 weeks and I. Am. Dreading. it :(
I am scared that she has been storing up all sorts of nonsense and bits to get worked up about and I suspect there will be many jabs at me.

I keep telling myself that my home is a safe space. My husband won't leave me alone with her anymore. Especially if I remind him. My kids are little and still delight and distract her.  There is just this horrible anxious bubble in the middle of my chest that I cannot seem to pop. It just sits there.

I am going to try and yoga before the visit. Remind myself to grey rock and to apply all the other techniques.

I have started with my EMDR journey this week and everything feels a bit in turmoil too.  SO not much to say to this post really :) Wanted to give a shout out to all the other nervous souls out there- you are not alone.

x and have  a safe an peaceful weekend

I hear you and see you!  Of course your body is feeling anxious about this upcoming experience.  I know doing EMDR about memories of my Mom made it much more difficult to be around my Mom.  Make sure to take good care of yourself tomorrow.  Take bathroom breaks, limit how long the visit is, have planned topics of conversation that distract from anything personal.
Do something after the visit to regulate yourself.  Good luck!
