What DO they say about us?

So, I got my PDh to go to a therapist. Yep, I thought it would be good to let him talk to someone else about himself, frankly. Listening to him gets well, tiresome.

So we were doing a one-car thing on his therapy day a couple of weeks ago, so I went along and dropped him off (I had an errand in that part of town). When I got back to his T's office, he came right out, with his very pleasant T right beside him, chatting. Now, I have talked to his T before, mostly making excuses as to why my H is late or such, but this was the first time we met in person. I got out of the car, walked around to get in the passenger side speaking to T. The T looked surprised. We exchanged pleasantries. I am overweight so I thought maybe that was the surprised look. H told me T said the next week that he was "amazed" by my behavior. My H actually said: "T said he was shocked by you. He thought you were decrepit or something. " I had foot surgery almost a year ago and I still have a tiny limp sometimes. Not a big deal, just a little gimpy still.

H was really surprised by his comment. Now, he is a typical victim mentality PD, so maybe he has been going for pity because his wife is so "handicapped"?? I can't imagine... I wasn't angry or anything, but it did make me hide a smile.

But what in the the hey has he said???  :stars:

Anyone else had this one??

Yeah, I suspect it is difficult for any of us nonPDs to imagine what kinds of things they will say about us. IME, I suspect it is to glamorize themselves, because their egos need to be glamorized by others. Of course, they probably talk about issues that concern them, but I suspect we nonPDs are marginalized in their T sessions just as much as they marginalize us in person.

If PDwife's T were realistic, the T would have realized that my PDwife is a true con, and, frankly, this T has had a bad life as well and seems to truly hate men. Thus, my PDwife's treatment of me has gone downhill ever since, when in fact, all I have ever been is loving and supportive, while she has been very negative.

All you can do is to focus on yourself and to be true to yourself, because our PDs are really not able to be honest and true to themselves, not alone to us.

I know what exuPDbf said about me when I left him. It wasn't pretty! Luckily I really don't care what he said as it has no impact on my day to day life (luckily)

We know how deluded they can be and nothing surprises me in the world of crazy!
It gets better. It has to.

I got a full copy of my pdh medical records on a dvd a while back.  I read through the notes.  Wow is all I can say.  His psychiatrist was quote off, bit I did not realize how much.  It seems he had an obsession about my pdh's and my sex life.  There were many comments in his notes.

Overall he was very much not right mental health wise, there were issues on both sides of the desk.

Cascade

There's been a few times when people that we both knew simply didn't like me, and I've wondered if it was because of something he's said. He also avoids having me meet his co-workers, which makes me think he might be saying things about me that they may doubt if they actually met me.
