I got the Tones Of Doom this morning
"WE CAN'T FIND THE DOG. WHAT DID YOU DO WITH HER."
Refusing to be ruffled, "I put her in DS room.  I can hear her crying. Check the other rooms."
"WE CAN'T FIND THE DOG."
"Honestly! She's in the house. Did you check the other rooms!"
Upon finding her, she'd trashed the room she trapped herself in.
"HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!"
"Well, the last person to leave that room didn't secure the door, she busted in, then trapped herself in there."
That last person was updh.
"Oh. Well that's no biggie. We can clean that up."
Uh huh. Can you imagine if it had been someone else?

Mistake, or gaslighting others?

SparkStillLit

I doubt it was gaslighting. He hadn't been upstairs, and she has done this before. She pushes on doors, and if they aren't secured, she lets herself in. She thinks the way out is to push on the door again, closing herself in. She's gone in places where he isn't, like DS's ensuite bathroom, and done this. Usually it's just amusing.

Yes, the offense is a big deal only if someone else is to blame.

Similar situations happen here. If there is a spill from someone else it is HIGH DRAMA omg get a towel...why is it taking so long?....get a towel NOW. Like I can seriously go get a towel starting the moment of a spill and no way be fast enough. However if he spills...barely a notice, just a quiet leisurely cleanup.
