so apparently the MIL is angry with me/ us because we chose to not drive 3 hours one way on a friday to go to her covid wedding.....

apparently i'm the bad guy because i didn't think it was worth the risk (wedding was in a hot spot in our state) that i would bring back to my place of employment and potentially expose others plus making someone else do my job for the day as it was next to impossible to get subs before covid  plus my DH has old man diseases and i have an autoimmune condition.  but hey, since his cousin with a colostomy bag and his other cousin with terminal cancer were there we are in hot water...i swear you can't make this shit up.

my MIL has already given me the silent treatment since we got married (last time was when i told her she wasn't going to be living with me) so this isn't new for our relationship.    just sharing to vent- no one here is surprised by the inlaw struggle

Alexmom

Silent treatment from your MIL?    Did Christmas come early for you?

Hilltop

Ha ha Alexmom so true.   Seriously its a gift, enjoy it.

Hey if she wants to be angry about that, its her emotions and her energy.  You would have been crazy to go, let her be upset, let her punish you with the silent bliss eh treatment.  I find it very telling she is angry with you, what her actual child didn't have a say.  Don't you love these MIL's they can't be angry with their child nope it's always the in-laws fault.  Ugh.

Classic MIL immaturity... 'Why grow up when I can just blame my DIL for everything'? Ugh.

Stand strong redshoes.

Call Me Cordelia

I agree with Alexmom! And hey, maybe since this silent treatment is timed when everyone is starting to think of holiday plans, well she doesn't want to talk to you anyway so no need to consider her in your holiday plans, either. If she starts hoovering right beforehand... sorry, your plans are set. :ninja:
