For the last year or so, when my husband and I watch TV together, he pulls up an extra chair and faces the wall in front of him, so the TV is on his left and I am on his right. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to actually face the TV while watching. I don't know if this is so he can scroll on his phone without me seeing, or if keeping an eye on me is the motive. Has anyone else seen this with PD people?

tragedy or hope

Hi,
Keeping an eye on you seems likely. I can't sleep in alone or go to bed alone. All day I get comments about things I'm doing when I think I am going about my business alone. He misses nothing. He stares at me while I am watching TV with him sometimes. It's unnerving. When I address it, the weird behavior comes out... defensiveness, why can't I accept he likes looking at me... whatever. In the morning he just looks and waits for me to talk, while starring.

They are empty,. They have nothing going on internally.  I sometimes think he is trying to learn how to respond to things by keeping an eye on me. He really does  not know what seems normal. It's exhausting.

Believe it the first time, or you will spend the rest of your life in disbelief of what they can/will do; to you. T/H

Hmm it does seem suspicious, whether it's to monitor you, hide his own activity, or he's just doing it to take up your personal space because he can. Maybe you can experiment and try sitting somewhere different. Or even rearrange the furniture (unless he's the type that gets upset over things being out of place.) See what he does and where he sits from there?

It would be funny to see what he would do if I grabbed another chair and sat it right beside his!  ;D
