This was suggested on a YouTube video I was listening to.  To help us work out our needs to imagine we're about to be born and create our fantasy family.

It was really lovely. I decided my family would all be hippies 😂. Ridiculously 'woke', creative, and funny.  I then wrote a letter to myself from them. They had so much belief in me, and loved all my qualities. I also found some pictures of older couples that I looked at and imagined them spending time, laughing with me and building my confidence.

It was a beautiful thing to be able to do and I find it easy to imagine what they'd say to me if I'm struggling or feeling down and it genuinely helps me to parent myself.

Ooh, I love this!  I'd like similar -- just easygoing, lighthearted, woke and crazily supportive hippies.  Yes, please!   :cool2:

This is a great exercise. I will think of an Aunt who eventually left, smart woman, who loved children so much and took me in as her own one day and I remember this in my bones. The delight in her eyes as she spoke to me. How she told me I was so sweet and cute and how she loved animals as much as I do and took me to see horses because she knew I loved them. She was beautiful with a Latina heritage and I remember her long black hair and dark brown eyes and the love in her expressions. She left a huge impression on me of me finally feeling seen and loved.
She was pragmatic and knew to to get out of her marriage to my father's brother. That entire side of my family is disordered and she separated from him and left to raise a family with, from what I have heard a very kind man who also loves children. I still think of her and remember how beautiful she was inside and out.
