Hi all, I've been reading posts here for the last few weeks, and I wanted to add my voice to this community as I've found so much value here.

I'm not new to the journey of caring for someone with BPD (my mother) but I am new to going NC with both my parents. For me, this was the only way forward after being told (by my mother) that she had written a very long, detailed account of all the things I have ever done to hurt her from when I was a child to now (mid 30s). If this wasn't hurtful enough I was also told by a few family members that she had been performing readings of this letter to visitors over the last six months.

I know many people here have lived through worse, and in truth I am not really angry. I spent so much of my childhood and adolescence being sad and angry that I think I used it all up.

I have a wonderful life, have been very successful in my career and have an amazing husband and three beautiful toddlers. I feel a very heavy weight of responsibility to make sure that the negative toxicity that seems to run through my family stops with me and doesn't touch them.

Thanks for having me

Hi liveanletgo,

You aren't alone in having a PD mother who writes Long Letters of Doom. My mother has done this for years. It's completely nuts. Good for you for going NC while your children are young. I didn't do this and I wish I would have. My grown children don't want anything to do with their grandmother and gmother doesn't like it!   :dramaqueen:

Protect your family and don't let her have any part of it. See you around the Forum!
