I have talked to my son and feel a little deceitful towards my updp but also am quite surprised at myself as to how sure of myself I am when he is not around.  I suggested to my son that we buy a house together, of course I would want a fully detached suite so we can both have our privacy, he has a wife and a child.  I don't do well living alone and to me this a way of living in a nice house, having my own space and privacy also having company and support there if I need it but having my freedom to travel and spend more time with my family too.  I just don't know how to approach my partner about my plans of separation, I chicken out, the reasons I want to leave are really that he will not travel with me, will not go on family vacations with me, hates my sister in law, is just a home body in every sense of the word because he will not really go out his area of living and venture out to do anything because of his phobias and this is just how he has lived his life.
He thinks because we live in a house together and get along (now that I live his lifestyle because of Covid) that everything is wonderful.  I don't want to tell him till the next month because of our lease in the house we share together but I find it so hard to break up, what would you do?

When I find it hard to say something, I write it down. Sit over it for a while. Write it down again. Sit over it again. Eventually I mail it.
You probably have every reason to expect the discussion to be unpleasant. Also, you have only been talking with your son, not bought anything yet. You will only have to tell him when your lease is up and when any decision has been made. And then you can do it in writing.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.

I have it my head and yes writing things is always (at least for me) easier than saying it out loud.  What is it they say "I was blind sighted" I hope this isn't the case and yes I don't have to tell him till the lease is up. I'm freaking a little.  Thank you for your support.

Hey, Dodo, it'll be all right. You can do this. It'll be a little uncomfortable in the moment, but then afterward when it's all done you're going to breathe a big sigh of relief and start to feel better. Might take a bit, but you'll get there, and then it'll be worth the bit of discomfort.
