Just wondering?

My udpdp seems to have a hugh problem with stress.  Making problems bigger than they are, not being able to handle any kind of stress.  He tells me he is good in a catastrophe but day to day life is the problem?  I have a also observed that he doesn't like to be told what to do, I find in his business if anyone makes any kind of demand on his time or if he perceives it to be an unwanted request he says "I'll be there on my own time, I make the plan not them".  To me this seems crazy when he needs the money to turn down business!  Just wondering if these are common behaviours for a PD person?

My ex uPDbf would flip under the slightest stress. Everytime.
It gets better. It has to.

Very normal for pd behaviour, yes.

Over reactions to little nothings. Reacting to normal requests as though the person requesting is criticizing  them.

Can't change a minute detail in a pre arranged plan without catastrophising about the plan in its entirety.

I think many pds can't cope with feeling/being wrong or with not having things in their control. Therefore they lash out.

My husband has a problem with stress too, and has been complaining about how stressed he is for over 30 years. Sometimes there were legitimate reasons for the stress but not most of the time nothing big. He makes mountains out of mole hills.

I agree with all the previous posts.  My OCPDxh would throw a fit if his boss tried to arrange my ex's schedule.  He worked best when he could do his schedule and no one interfered.  He would complain, stress and be anxious about it but it went a little better.  It was truly one of the hardest parts of my marriage.

He would say he was great in an emergency.  Nope.  He would dither and couldn't make up his mind and fret over a tiny detail while the rest of us just did what needed done.  Any change from the plan, even small ones, became massive.

i am now a year out in the divorce and yesterday I was just marveling over the free feeling of wow, I got a big adjustment to make here, no big deal.

Yep, just like has been said. There are so many traits of PD or narcissism. Remember youre dealing with a an emotionally arrested individual, about 3 years of age.

Criticism is very hard to take as its taken as an attack on their very fragile ( im near perfect) psyche's and to cope in life they also need to be in control. So any incident however small can trigger a disproportionate response. Tantrums can ensue.

My father would hate any form of disruption to his well made plans. He just couldnt adapt. But of course this response didnt apply to other people, they have to adapt to him.

this comment is so true, over reacting to little things, everything is a big freaking deal to him!

YES. uOCPDh fits this to a T.
Early in our marriage I had what I now know to be fleas in this area. Somehow I started mirroring his behavior in that both of us were always "stressed".
My SIL once started to me that Updh 'can't handle any stress at all'.

I noticed I'm starting to mirror him by being ratty like him when he is mad or upset, I never use to be a mean person but I find myself saying things back to him to defend my myself anomy family and  I don't like being like this.  For one thing there is no point and I know it as it goes on and on, I believe its called a circular argument, goes nowhere and comes back to the beginning.
