I have stage IV cancer - and PTSD, fibro, arthritis, and degenerative disc disease - a lot I know and it can sound like I am hunting for diagnosis or some kind of nut but it is all real and scary and painful and traumatic.  I've had radiation, chemo, five cancer surgeries and died countless times from drug interactions, and brought back with everything from paddles to adrenaline.

But this week, I met with my doc in a distant city - top of his field who deals with rare and weird cancer - and he used the word "cured" - or at least remission.

I was stunned.  He had always in the past stated unequivocally that I would die from this cancer and my chances of survival were less than 2%.  Prepare your family kind of thing.

I am sitting here tonight still trying to wrap my head around this news.  A life.  I have been planning for a life now - travel and more - but it feels so very real.  Possible.  A second life beyond managing my OCPDxh or my kids or whatever - a life of my own making.

Huh.

Does that mean you can say you HAD stage IV cancer?
