My New Mantra

Hepatica

It's simple and yet it seems to keep me feeling a lot less anxiety. I keep telling myself, especially when I think someone in the old FOO is having judgemental thoughts about, "I'm doing the best that I can."

It's true. I have been having these conversations in my own head about how angry people are at me for backing away and for even being who I am, which is a person recovering from trauma. I am not perfect. I have been walking with these invisible broken qualities my entire life. I hate being judged for it.

Somehow saying "I'm doing the best that I can" really soothes me.

Maybe it will help you too.

Thanks Hepatica 😊😊😊
It gets better. It has to.

My mantra is
"I get to pick my own ruler"

Meaning I get to decide what measures I judge things by.  I get to set the goals and judge the degree of success.

We don't all get the same tools to work with so why use someone else's ruler.  I need to use the one that goes with my set of tools.

Good stuff, Hepatica! I think we all tend to forget that most of us are doing the best we can with what we have in the moment. When we know better we do better - I just have trouble giving myself grace in the moment. Why's it so much easier to do that for others?!

I hope you find that doing your best while being your real self takes you to a best for you life.

I wish I had even a little of time or energy wasted on doing other wise to reinvest in my outofthefog journey forward.

Instead we all have from where are now ans forward.
