Identity

Hi everybody,
I am glad to join you. I found out recently that my father, whom I always liked, disinherited me. This has taken quite a bit of processing for me and only now am I getting to a place of relief. Now I realize that it was he who allowed me to be humiliated and mistreated by my BPD mother. It was he who said nothing when my violent older brother beat me, and now he has reached out from the grave to give me a final slap. He loved money so much, I'm sure he thinks disinheriting me is a terrible punishment. It's not so bad, actually. And now I can finally kick all of them to the curb without any guilt. The hardest thing about it is that normies just won't understand.
Your truly,
Identity

Welcome. You are not alone.

What your father did sounds particularly vindictive, mean and so childish. Abusers are all about power and control.

If you think his actions were out of character or against anything you thought would happen or have discussed previously you may be able to challenge the will. He may have been put under coercive control by another family member or members to change his will. He may not have had capacity either if he had mental health issues.

However, another course maybe to remain calm, let things go and let things be, knowing this was all about his issues and not about you at all.

If it hurts it isn't love.
