When I was a child ubpd mother hated it when I told the truth.

She didn't like getting up in the mornings to do my (thick) hair and often made me late for school as I stood at her bedroom door calling for her. The teacher asked me why I was so often late - I told the truth .......
M was furious when she found out and yanked and pulled at my hair each future morning as a result.

She wouldn't pay for more rabbit food for my pets. I tried so hard to gather weeds for them to eat but one rabbit died. Enabling father found me crying by the hutch and asked what was wrong - so I told the truth.
A huge row ensued about money and her lack of caring. The money was then made available but I had to stand in front of her and ask for it correctly. She was furious.

She called me a disgusting name once. I was a young adult then and responded by criticising her lack of house keeping skills. She threatened to either leave or throw me out. Father had to calm it all down. I had told the truth again. She was furious.

The real truth ofcourse is that she wasn't fit to be my mother. I went no contact permanently. She was furious.

Windmill - I am thankful that in the face of such vicious retributions, you still had the courage and strength of character to be honest. That is something to be celebrated and I celebrate you today for your innate and beautiful honesty.

:yeahthat: No one who would treat you like you describe is fit to be a mother. That is the truth!!
The most powerful people are peaceful people.

The truth will set you free if you believe it.

Thank you Jolie40, you're very kind to say that.

It's like she just couldn't see outside of her own head. But then, she could see because her reaction to my truth telling was annoyance at my 'betrayal' I should have hushed up because I wasn't worthy of consideration in her view. My rabbits weren't either.
