After some terrible days when she was very ill, my elderly uBPDmum has turned the corner. It's been tough for both of us and she was mostly very nice to me throughout and it was genuine. However, with a return of her strength, her wierd PD personality is coming up for air and she's back to her old self. Deep joy!

At least I can envisage her return to her home now. I have got care lined up and things will hopefully settle into a new normal.

Thank you everyone for your support. I had support from friends but not all of them understand the unique challenges of having a PD parent so you people have been invaluable.

I'm glad that she was relatively nice during the hardest times but also glad that she should be able to go home soon and you can get yours back to yourself.
Don't let the narcs get you down!

Great news Boat Babe.  Let us know when she's on her way home so we can celebrate with you!

Boat Babe - a good update! What resilience you have shown. So thankful your mom is no longer suffering as she was. Well done, you!

I am so happy for you. You have overcome another challenge. Onwards and upwards!  If you ever do mindfulness meditations, you know the loving kindness meditation.  I have found they give me strength when I deal with difficult people.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.
