Hi! I posted a while back about when I decided to go NC when I discovered my dad was NPD and everything just finally made sense. Turns out going NC wasn't just good for my mental health but also forced my aunt to take action regarding my dad. He is out of money, homeless and claims to be sick, all in a country foreign to his
So finally when his family realized I was done and meant it, they decided to step in and buy him a plane ticket back to his home country.
The only thing is that now I have to break NC for a couple of days because I have to help him pack and drive him to the airport (I have his things in my house and he doesn't have a car). I know it's just for like a week, but I find myself dreading this. I called him the other day to hear him rant about the same old stuff and decided not to visit and cut the phone call short. Also did not contact him for father's day.
I know he will finally be out of my life for good, but I know this week is going to completely drain me and I'm not looking forward to it.
I also just feel weird in general because I will probably never see my dad again. Can't pin down exactly how I'm feeling.
I'll post later how it goes.

Hi Roarjoana!

Arrange for a cab.

Mail his belongings to the address your family provides.

:yeahthat:

Seriously, what she said. You don't *have* to do anything of the sort, helping him pack and putting up with his shizz until he's gone. My only other suggestion would be to put it in storage and give him keys to retrieve when he's ready.

Does this mean he'll be in your house until he leaves?? How do you get him out if he has some change of mind and decides he'd rather stay with you, or gets sick, has some kind of injury? I'd tread very lightly here.

Hi, so in order to give more context:
He is moving from Mexico to Canada. Pretty hard to ship his things and will be crashing at a friend's. No permanent address. How will his living situation be? Not my problem.
I need to take him to the airport to make sure he leaves. In the long run, it's the best way to get him out of my life for good. So I'm just looking at the bigger picture for the motivation. Am I tired? Yes. Do I want to do this? Not really.
But my desire to have him stay out of my life is stronger. If he stays in the country, guaranteed he will find a way to keep hoovering.

Hi Roarjoana,

Here's the thing:

The move is the hoover.

How will this work out?

You will move from your space of peace and safety into literally his home turf, where you will go through all of his private stuff for hours in a close space, either just the two of you or you and a couple of Flying Monkeys and then ferry him to the airport for the Big Goodbye.

And that's if everything goes "well"!

His stuff. His problem.

His flight. His cab.

If you feel the need to see him before he leaves, do so on your terms, in a public place, with a time limit and an exit plan.

Like a food court.
