Has anyone gone to court to get a restraining order

I had a campaign against me for years from my 'estranged sibling'.

It's been vicious.  All of it has been about control from her.  Pointing and blaming and score pointing and demands and insults and unwritten threats and more blame.

I have not seen her in over 8 years. I don't respond to her communications.  Her anger is as fresh today as it was 10 years ago.

All of it - is to put 100% of blame on me.  I get a sense that she wants a reconcilation but she wants it all to come 100% from me while she insults me and abused me. She wants me to fix it all.  She wants me to fix her feelings and her ego.  She has examined every piece of my being even stuff that had nothing to do with us.

I'm not able to fix this.

She won't leave me alone.

Has anyone got a restraining order to stop contact?

I had to get a restraining order for my ex uPD bf.  I am so sorry you are going through this- it's something that I keep on simmer in the back of my mind in case my biological mother shows up and identifies as a problem.  my best advice is contact the court in the state/ municipality in which you live to see what kind of documentation you need.

I have thought about doing the same with my sibling. I thought about going to the police but then actually spoke to a lawyer about it. He informed me of the steps and the cost involved. What stopped me was that I knew my sibling would not take it as "end". Instead I believed she would see it as the door opening to really have a throw down. I actually thought she would love it.

After nearly seven years of NC with her, I had a few instances where she approached me in public. On one occasion her husband demanded an apology from me in a restaurant or he said he was going to go over to my house and knock the door down. It was hostile. I had a duration of limited contact with her recently about our parents during which I could see her anger toward me was also just as fresh as ever. Likely, it was even more intense. I however did not think about her much other than just relief she was out of my life.

I would just do what makes you feel comfortable and safe. It does not hurt to make inquiries about what would be involved so you can make an informed decision. For me, I just installed exterior security cameras at home, and make sure I always have my phone out when in public so I can quickly hit "video" if she makes any advances toward me again and have evidence to use in court if needed.

I read this a few weeks ago when you posted this and I agree with what you write.  I think my sister would love it.  She would use it to turn the tables and throw the book at me.  I know what you have written.

However for the past 9 or 10 years I was subjected to her wrath and fury and included in her campaign was interrogations from her.

I can't keep going with her over my back like this. She was obtuse when I tried to deal with this about 6 years ago and she threw back my apology saying it wasn't genuine and that's not true.  I can't fix this between us.  This connection is broken.  She won't leave me alone. This is something she will carry with her to the grave and take me and all of our siblings there too.  Nobody should have to live like this.  The person is a stranger to me now except I know she still is blowing up my emails electronically.   If she was to leave her communications to her dirty words and point making (which I ignore) I could handle that however tmher communications are often a precursor to revenges. I am not able for any more.

She's had 10 years to process her emotions and get over out broken relationship but she hasn't. She's still stuck on the same old same old.

Many of her communications, I don't read them any more but when I did it was the same thing over and over.  She pulled apart every piece of my being and interrogated me and claimed stuff that just wasn't true.  She read so many other things wrong too.

I can't live like this any more. She won't leave me alone.

I know the law wasn't appropriate in my country to stop this but it's just after changing.

I wanted to but it's hard. One of my family likes to do things indirectly- through getting others to react to the situation. They threatened to give out my address before and even with that information the police said it wasn't enough. They know if they start sending letters or attempting to contact me I will involve the police.

You sound like you have plenty of evidence to proceed with charging them.
