Hello there, long time lurker first time poster. I'm in my 30s and finally had the guts to go NC with my older BPD sister.

A few details of my story, we were neglected and abused as children, abandoned by our father. My sister has always been extremely jealous of me. You can even see it on old home videos when we were small. Could not stand if I was getting attention and she was not. I was not allowed to have any sort of identity outside of her and our mother enabled and even encouraged the behavior.

Things have been escalating as of late, due to me coming Out of the FOG with my family's dysfunction and my sister did not like that. She knew I was pulling away and becoming my own person, building my own life.

She verbally attacked me for the last time and I told her I never wanted to speak to her again.

Looking forward to sharing more of my story and reading yours, thanks for having me.

Welcome, FinallyFree.  And congratulations.
I finally did similarly, with my sib in her 50's, although I didn't announce it and we are VVLC, not NC.

It's been 6 years.  I feel a bit sad at times, but far healthier.
I hope you are enjoying some benefits of no contact.

You're not alone.  Keep posting!

welcome FinallyFree you've  done the right thing as hard as it is you'll finally find peace not having to deal with unwanted and unwarranted toxic abuse and that is the biggest victory, you've won and they will always lose due to the nature of their personality disorder.
