Hello, nice to be here. My amazing coach recommended it. Let me start by saying that I am an overachiever. I do it with myself continuously. And obviously I never win because I am always 1 cent to the dollar! I work for a narcissist and he manipulates my personality to perfection. I have been working for him for more than 20 years and although I have learned to "manipulate" him back he is a master of it. He doesn't scream or is impolite. He tried at the beginning and I put my foot down.  He is careful where he goes to which is my overachieving. Although I tried, it is hard. If the company doesn't do well is on me, if we lose money is on me, I can't sell at a loss (costs he puts which are truly unknownn) but if I don't sell the company doesn't produce. I am his right hand, so I do more than my regular job. He calls me for everything but nothing is enough. The worst thing is I would love to send him to hell instead of showing him it doesn't bother me.
Do any of you are in a similar situation? Would love to hear about it.

HMwork - Hi and welcome to Out of the FOG. Wow! What a lot you have on your plate with your boss' behaviors and pressure of the workplace you are under. Facing this day in/day out has to be quite the challenge!

I am thankful you have joined the community and want to point you toward a few resources that may be good help to you.

We have a sub forum specifically for the struggles found in high conflict non familial relationships found here: Friends, Neighbors, Acquaintances and Coworkers

I also wanted to share with you the really helpful, straight forward work of Jefferson Fisher who offers easy to implement and digest communication strategies for a wide variety of situations we are faced with.

YouTube channel with shorts found here: https://www.youtube.com/@jeffersonfisher

He also has a podcast that goes into more depth if you find his work helpful.

The other thing I would suggest is heading over to the sub forum linked above and begin having conversations around what you are experiencing and looking for insights into. That will give the community an opportunity to know better how to weigh in and support you.

Looking forward to supporting you! See you out there on the forum boards!
