the chickens have come home to roost with my NPD brother and now the things narcs really fear which is the truth and now he will have to face it, although he can depend on his enablers and flying monkeys will continue to believe his lies and will achieve his true victim identity about his own lack of taking care of his health, when he blew it off for many years. he is diabetic, overweight, drinks beer, and probably never took any cholesterol or BP meds, although the flying monkeys say he was in tip top shape and had perfect HDL levels, supposely works out at the gym(doesnt show) IMO, he had over 600 count blood sugar count at the hospital, and was in ketoacidosis(not good). the house of cards is collapsing and the flying monkeys are covering it all up, and sweeping all the facts under the carpet. could this be true Karma from a higher power?

My PD sister had a stroke a few years ago. I am NC so only heard about it from our parents. The very first thought I had was that everything she is, does, and had done came full circle back to her.

Similar to what you describe, my sister had lifestyle conditions that I believe contributed. I believe these were unhealthy coping mechanisms that allowed her to remain in the dysfunction without facing the underlying issues of what has to be a very stressful life.

Karma is interesting and I guess I am unsure how that all works. I do for sure believe that what we are in our hearts, mind and spirit is reflected in our life. It is about the energy we put out into the world too. Our conditions are what we have cultivated.

i cannot imagine the rage he must feel being put in an emergency room 3 days now having to now ruminate himself about how his negative and toxic attitudes got him in this place, i wish him well but also when he does eventually get out im sure his rage will be pointed outward towards his perceived enemies worse than he ever was, true narcissistic collapse. im not religious but believe the hand of a higher power laid him out for all the lying, toxic behavior towards innocent people just to relieve his weak ego.

Yes, the rage in the aftermath. I have seen it. The outward blame to everyone and everything and absolutely no introspection.

How this mind-set impacts the recovery process is also something I wondered about. Since I live close to my sister I have occasionally run into her in public. She looks like she has aged 10 years. We had a brief period of contact last year over an aging parent, and she said that our parent is the one who should have gotten that stroke and not her. She was angry. I cringed.

Back to the karma aspect though, I do not think we have to do anything to "make them pay" or call them out for what they have done. Something else will take care of it.

they seem to live in a Peter Pan world where they make the rules up on how they should behave and not societies rules that we must all follow in order to keep some semblance of peace, its a very weird sort of fake reality they live in, and they get reinforcement from enablers, flying monkeys who go along with it and tell them its all right everyone else has the problem, it starts very early in life with the parents not setting boundaries.spoiling the child, no consequences for bad behavior towards others AKA The Golden Child. Well I believe some higher power really smashed him he cannot talk, has pneumonia, some sort of infection in the brain, fever, out of control diabetes, this was all caused by his own lack of self care of his health. On the other hand my health and mental health has vastly improved since he has been at the Hospital just by not being in my space.
