I took my niece out for lunch.   She was super excited.   She had recently been diagnosed with BPD and is seeking treatment both with medication and DBT.  She's taken responsibility for her mental health.   It is important to her that she not take this into any family that she creates.   I've never been prouder of someone with a PD.  BPD doesn't have a cure, but she is not disheartened by that.   She's trying to find healthier ways to word around her disorder.

Additionally, she's going VLC with her family, because her dad likely has the same and refuses to get any professional help.
That she has taken responsibility and accountability for herself in this way changes my way of thinking about PD's.   I'm so glad for her.

That's amazing, good for her!

That is totally wicked!  (Insert little kid on tricycle from The Incredibles.)

So good to hear of people who take responsibility and try to better themselves. It's not common. Thanks for sharing!

That's great! From what I've learned about BPD vs. NPD is that NPD is one of the hardest PD's to treat. In contrast, I've read in many articles that Borderline PD is one of the PD's that is most responsive to treatment.
