"I Hate You--Don't Leave Me" Jerold J. Kreisman, MD, and Hal Straus

This is a pretty well-known book, so if it's already been recommended, I'm seconding. This is about understanding and navigating Borderline Personality Disorder, including a very comprehensible section on how to communicate with a BPD. Therapist recommended that I skip to that section first in order to amend some of of my communication pitfalls. It's really interesting (frustrating) how a borderline interprets words, especially when they are "in crisis" as he puts it. I've only read the Communicating chapter so far, but quite helpful.

The more I learn and realize about these relationships the more it appears to be about attachment disorders. Thanks for the recommendation.
