My housemate has gone from sitting in her chair all day, day after day, in a sputtering-volcano-like-rage for weeks on end!! And now suddenly she is being nice to me again after I started avoiding her completely and not helping her at all and things started piling up. I guess she is hoping that I will do her house chores for her again if she's sweet as pie? :sadno:

I'm guessing this is merely typical behavior for pd people? I am going to continue to greywall/avoid/not do the chores beyond cleaning up after my own self.

Some people in a roommate situation (not PD) are just afraid of confrontation  or embarrassed by their one time poor judgment but without having read your situation previously, I assume this roommate behaves like how you described all the time. So yes, I think so. I see these kind of behaviours as splitting, manipulation and possibly hoovering. Ex- uNPD/APD did this a lot.. I used to call the behaviour Jekyll and Hyde when I didn't have words like splitting or hoovering to describe it. It's very scary how quickly and blatantly they seemingly switch from being a terror to your best friend like as if nothing happened before

Hang in there and stand your ground.
And here you are living despite it all..

Know this: the person who did this to you is broken. Not you... I will not watch you collapse

Yes it is! It feels like it's been over a week since she's had any conversation with me at all. Hopefully it stays that way. I can't help but see any interactions as having ulterior motives in order to get something out of me. Whether she is embarrassed or not, a mutual connection on Facebook let me know that her smear campaign against me is fully on. Fortunately she was my friend first and doesn't believe a word of it. The bottom line is that my housemate is emotionally immature, and I will not stoop to her level.

Excellent plan! Do you have some ways to get out of the house to relax and recover/ get away from her?
Are you a sorted to get free? Sending support ☺️

Sort of. Mostly I spend time in my room because Ontario, Canada is in lockdown due to Covid. I might go out for groceries at some point though.  And I will go to sign a new lease tomorrow! :) Feb 1 can't come soon enough!!

Thanks so much! I try to keep my head on straight most of the time. The stress of being here is definitely getting to me though and tonight I'm enjoying some of my favorite wine.
