Double Standards

:yeahthat: Oh my I almost LOL when I read another post and the poster mentioned how the "double standards are mind boggling". I sometimes find humor in how my PD person does not see how he has double standards when it comes to behavior. He excuses all for himself but nit picks when someone has done the exact thing. At other times I don't find humor in the double standards and it just rattles my sense of justice. I hate unfairness and to have it so blatantly displayed sometimes does boggle my mind.

I try to adjust at times when my PD person says I do something wrong but the gist of it is that even when I do adjust he will find a way to be negative even when I tried to appease him. Basically its like he says the sky is blue but I say its green. He says oh you are so wrong and stupid, etc, etc. Btw I don't really believe the sky is green lol. Then when I adjust and agree that the sky is blue, he says how can you be so dumb, the sky can be many colors. I never win. Not like I am trying to win, but with him sometimes I feel like I am in a competition. I can share something with him about something I know and in the middle of our conversation he will be googling to find a way to prove I am wrong. I know its his way of maintaining the upper hand but I sometimes find it frustrating dealing with someone who just can't admit I can be knowledgeable of some things. I have never claimed to know all, but he has often accused me of that. He on the other hand believes he is always right, my opinions and feelings are to be challenged and I know jack squat. I just let him believe that since its easier on everyone

What bugs the zim zam zoom out of me is how updh rants up a storm about some behavior of updMIL'S, often these days after he just did something just like it. It's disheartening and horrifying all at once.  I'm mind blown how he can't see it. He's so busy beyotching about her behavior, why on EARTH is he copying it???

SparkStillLit I have exactly the same.

The troubling thing is I am consoling PDw's  after run ins with MIL or SIL, only to have exactly the same behaviour levelled against me only a couple of hours later...

This, the hypocrisy, is one of the worst things for me as well.

This one keeps cropping up.
Updh goes on these rants where he absolutely degrades and looks down upon people and their "attachment to THINGS" and he upholds himself as "a person who needs nothing" and would "be happiest with just a backpack"
(Yes, because in his mind he'd have no responsibilities to anything and not have to make any decisions, at least that's what I think)
but anyway, with this in mind he's always pushing for an empty house.
He wants nothing in the home, blank walls, no stored items, nothing.
Interestingly enough, when he really gets going, he wants the home emptied of everyone else's precious memories and objects. Not his sporting or hobby equipment long since discarded. Not his garbage from half finished projects. Not his empty boxes from whatever. Not his tools scattered everywhere. Not his stuff from former trades disorganizedly humped in a shed or in the yard. None of his stuff is ever gone though, organized, donated, discarded or neatened during these. Only that of others is demanded to be done so, or is discarded on the sly by him, under the guise of "cleaning up".
