I am getting nervous because my partner and I were planning on buying a house together but I am getting nervous at the prospect as I don't think it would be a good idea.  We have been getting along famously but because of the Covid we have been house bound and I can't travel so this lifestyle is totally suiting my partner because this is the way he lives all the time! I worry about not have my freedom (although he may say he is fine with me traveling with others or on my own) he always comes up with something that will upset me about going away and leaving him!
So buying a house together (not till after the New Year) is something he working towards but I have to bring up all the legal issues because it would be my money for the down payment and he wants to get something out of the deal as he would be making mortgage payments too.  I know when I bring up the money part of everything he will fuss about me not trusting him (and when it comes to money I really do, but not this).  I really don't want to do this and worry about complicating everything by doing this as I'm still not positive I want to be with this man long term, how do I approach it without a blow out.

I think you should trust your gut here.
If a friend told you their similar situation and asked your advice what would you tell them?

You clearly don't want to buy a house with this man. Don't allow yourself to be bullied into doing something you are not ready to do yet. Consider telling him, I am not ready to make this committment yet. Maybe in 2023. If you are scared of his response, you might think about this even more! If he reacts with respect for your concerns and gives you time and space, you might even be ready for such a committment later on. But from your post it seems perfectly clear to me that you do not want to buy a house with this man at this point in time. So don't do it. Listen to yourself and respect your feelings.
I can't hate my way into loving myself.
