Separated in-home for 1.5 years. Finally have an agreement that uPDh was satisfied with regarding home/custody, and he'll be moved out by Sunday.

I'm feeling a weird mix of relief, happiness, frustration, grief, etc. Of course there's a part of me that wants to make it all better and just get back together again - but I've learned that it's codependency and not a healthy relationship.

Our issues are not fixable. We tried. I'll even give him credit - he did start regular therapy, so I think he tried to the extent that he's able to. Unfortunately he never took full responsibility for his actions and continued to gaslight/manipulate/and emotionally abuse me throughout the separation. I know I'm making the right choice for my child and I.

He's being mostly calm about it and seems accepting. He is making some dramatic/passive aggressive gestures to really bring it home that I'm "kicking him out of the house." Our neighbors all feel sorry for him. His family tried to send a flying monkey by the other day. I MC/GR.

It's so frustrating to not talk about what I experienced with him, but I think it's the best path forward. We still have a final agreement to work on after this.

Thank you all for your kind and supportive words, support, shared experiences, etc. It has helped me to change my life - and hopefully my kid's life - for the better.

You sound in a really good place, Blackbird.  Doing what's best for you and your child.  Please let us know how it's going.  All the best!

This is great news. Divorce is never easy and always comes with a mix of emotions.

Everyone also felt sorry for my ex. Years later I have a whole new life and I couldn't care less what those people think. I see now that people who are taken in my PDs have their own issues, just like I had mine.

I hope the move goes smoothly and that you stay safe.
