Really getting tired....

This is just a rant about his callousness...but I couldn't believe it, really.

I am a diabetic, just put on insulin, trying to figure out what I should be taking, really struggling with it, etc. etc.

Thanksgiving wasn't great for my diet. I hate turkey, which he insisted on, I made things he liked, all bad for me....Long story short, I am working on getting back on track today. I ask him to take me to the store (I'm injured and can't drive at the moment - well, not without worrying about it.) He agrees, but has some things to do. Fine, I say. We'll go when he gets back; but I really need to NOT eat what we have as leftovers.

He gets back, I'm dressed and ready. I have nothing, really, that I should eat in the house, especially since my numbers were (as expected) bad this morning.

He says, "No, I'm too tired to go right now." and lies down. I tell him. "I need to go to the store! Please!"

Nope. He starts snoring. I'm left sitting, furious, hungry and miserable.

I want to so be done with this, but too much going on right now. All I can think is "be patient".......
"It is not my job to fix other people; everyone is on their own journey."

Patient yes, but use this to motivate toward positive change.

I hope you can get a grocery delivery or something.

And to protect yourself buy up extra canned and frizen veggies and tuna etc so you can make low carb meals without his help.  Buffer against this aweful abuse while you heal and until you can drive again.

You can turn this around.

I agree with 1foot. Take the anger energy you feel at the moment to make some positive changes for yourself.

Seems like he has no problem with disappointing you.  I hope that next year you will have no problem disappointing him. Especially when he looks at the Thanksgiving meal - broccoli and beetroot hopefully!
I can't hate my way into loving myself.

I  am electing to stay in the home woth my pd.

Part if my role is cooking meals.  I have to therefore do it with integrity.  I cook many things he likes in large batches and freeze them. I buy additiinal items he enjoys and can fix himself.

Most of my nightly cooking is done with the health needs and cuisine desires of myself and my kids.  If pd does not like it he eats the frozen dinner of his choice.  I announce at lunch what we will have for supper and he elects to defrost something or not.

I say this to illustrate that I had to make it work for me and my health and the kids needs as priority and yet keep my obligations with integrity.  There are not always easy solutions but in everyway you can make yourself important and keep your health evej while navigating a pd in the home.
