So last night I was walking my dog and ran into a neighbour who was walking his dog also, we chatted for a minutes, had a nice little conversation, said so long and I walked home with my dog.  I told my partner about runing into him and my partner got mad.  He went on about the same old things, "I encouraged it, this guy yelled at our dogsi in the past, how could I be such a trader", " you think you run the show", on and on, we sweared at each other for awhile, he go mad and broke the dog cage, then fixed it later after he appoligized to me about his behaviour.  I told him he scared the dog with his anger and he was more concerned about upsetting the dog as he fussed over him for a long time saying "poor guy sorry I scared you", and hugged and kissed the dog to death.  Well its nice he really loves the dog.  I on the other hand am fed up with him,  at least he appoligized and I appreciate that but i know it will happen again, its so hard with this man who always makes a fuss about me doing things that he won't do with me.  I am still miffed about the whole thing and find myself feeling cool towards him.

Sometimes the PDs in our lives show us who they really are.

Often things are neutral at best a goid deal of the time and we accept that because it seems safe while we wait for our "real partner" to show again.  Many nons are always waiting for the " real partner" to return and endire abuse in the mean time as if its an anomoly.  Then gradually over time the see that the oerson they fell in love with was the anomoly and the abuser is reality.

When they show us who they really are do we believe them?

Quotehe go mad and broke the dog cage

What you are describing is considered physical abuse. His behavior is escalating and you and the dog are in danger. The fact that he took his rage out on the dog is an even bigger sign of the danger you are in than anything he’s currently doing to you.

The single thing that experts agree on about abuse is that it always escalates.

If you decide to stay I’d consider rehoming your dog. I know someone whose husband killed her cat. She came home and he’d hung it from a banister on the landing. He was angry about a lot of things and thought the cat got more attention that he did. In the end she was lucky to walk way with her own life.
