I was just watching a show where somebody was painting, and it made me think of Bob Ross, which reminded me of how his show used to come on after cartoons on Saturday on PBS. I used to love to watch him.
Sometimes pdm wouldn't be paying attention or would be outside or something and I'd get to watch, but if she noticed, she'd turn it off, making some remark about "that weirdo".
I mean, what on earth! He was PAINTING. What the hell was wrong with BOB ROSS????

Probably because everything with him was "happy." Happy little clouds, happy little trees, happy accidents. Of course, our disordered parents preferred misery and nonstop drama, and there was no room for happy. I think that they find happy people offensive. I truly think they believe that that rare individual who is happy and exudes nothing but peace, love, calmness, and acceptance is secretly a psycho. :stars: I find watching his stuff on YT to be quite relaxing now.

Lasting happiness is not something we find, but rather something we make for ourselves.

One of my PD parents really hated Mr. Rogers.

Yeah, wouldn't want us to have some sort of good influence.
