Sending selfies

My pd spouse sends me a lot of pictures of himself (nothing perverted).  Now if we were both young and dating I would see that as pretty normal but we've been married for over 25 years and he's nearing 60. It's not a big deal but sometimes when I see a photo of him, especially when I was just expecting to read a  text message, I get a negative reaction in my gut. Does this happen to anyone else, with excessive selfies and the "ew" reaction?

Yes Cascade, that is odd for this stage in life.  Seems he may be fishing for complements/attention from you.  I would be turned off as well.

I did observe a weird thing updxh did with photos over our 20+ year relationship.  When he was taking a video of the kids doing something cute, or the dog, or whatever, he would ALWAYS turn the camera around and include himself in the video.  I never thought to do this and found it strange that he was compelled to be part of almost every video he took.  My perception is that he had to leave his mark on everything lest he be invisible.  With PDs, it seems everything becomes a pissing contest, I am not competitive at all so this was so odd to me.

After our first was born, he would avoid taking pictures of me with our baby, and continued this behavior with subsequent children.  I didn't feel the need to be in a bunch of pictures with kids and I was usually the one behind the camera, it was weird that he would exclude me. I knew that one day I would enjoy looking back on pictures of us both with our precious children at various ages/stages and was hurt when he behaved this way but tried not to show it.

Weirdly, there were many times he pressured me to make a 'video' with him.  I absolutely said  no way.  Once, he sent me a private part picture of him when he was out of town and expected reciprocation, I refused.  I am so glad I didn't let him persuade me into compromising myself in this way, it would have been used against me for sure.

Ugh... who can understand this stuff.

My husband placed himself in a lot of our home videos too, which is why I started to take some videos of our children when my husband wasn't home. I hope you got some videos and pictures of you and your children too.

And those pictures my husband sends to me, they almost always include his face, even if he's trying to show me something in the background. I'm sure you're right, that he is fishing for compliments.

My husband used to ask about us making a "video" of us together too, and I'm glad I always refused. He is not trustworthy. I'm glad you said no too.

Smh. Updh took a lot of pics of him and the kids.
Not so much of me.
He RARELY EVER has texted me, and NEVER sent me pics of himself. He's the worst text communicator or responder ever. Used to drive me NUTS.
He has taken "pics" of me after much cajoling on his part. I really don't like it. I feel ick even admitting such. I said to keep my face out, but who knows. They aren't disgustingly revealing, but risque enough to make me very uncomfortable.
