A quick review. Dh, Ds, and I all had covid very, very early last year. Early enough we thought it was the flu for a couple of weeks after, even though it wasn't like any flu we'd ever had. Afterward, I developed increasingly severe driving anxiety. I had to stay off the highway, and I even had to pull over a few times to calm myself.

Now at the time, I thought something must be wrong with me. I had just gone NC with uBPDm, and I theorized that that was causing this odd trend. However, over the last three months, now more than a year since we had covid, studies have been coming out that show a correlation between covid 19 infection and anxiety issues. A very strong correlation at that. One article indicated that anxiety issues are present in a many as 16% of cases.

It is unknown at this time whether covid directly affected the brain, or if it was a combination of people being ill, alone, and socially outcast and restricted that caused the anxiety issues these various studies have now identified.

Here is at least one article: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newscientist.com/article/2279780-many-people-with-covid-19-have-neurological-or-psychiatric-symptoms/amp/

There are several others available for further reading with a quick web search. This is just meant to be food for thought, should anyone else find themselves in my shoes.

In my case, the anxiety has pretty much gone away now, more than a year later. Had I been employed during this timeframe, I probably would have been forced to seek medical assistance to combat it in order to even just get work. And it has been very weird to me. My logical brain reasons and tells me there's nothing to be afraid of, but my more primal side was in deathly fear. Until recently, the two would not be reconciled.

Much love to you all.

Hepatica

Andeza, thank you so much for sharing this. It is so important to know and I am also very sorry that you've experienced it. I have a friend who has recently had a bad experience with Covid. She was hospitalized because of it and the past month, she has had very severe anxiety, so bad she is scared. I just shared the article you shared and she is so relieved to read about it.

I am sending you lots of healing energy and wish you a path to healing. All the best.

Thank you, Hepatica! And I'm so glad it could help her. What she's feeling is real, and it's horrible, but she's not going crazy! That was how I felt, like I'd just up and started going crazy at first.
