My son is 25 (that is still young adult, right?)  and has borderline personality disorder. Anxiety too. My husband probably has some BPD, too. This website has been helpful. I am going to dip my toe into the forum.

My son certainly hasn't owned his diagnosis yet, but he has shown some signs he is open. He takes prozac. he needs anti psychotic, Im told.

He lives in a different city and has been able to hold down a job. so, that's great. It's pretty amazing how willing he is tol hold onto the idea that he is sick, and that we need to fix him.  My husband and I fight a lot about this. I feel like Im in the middle a lot. Probably a pretty common refrain.

Anyway- that's it in a nutshell. Thank you all for maintaining this community,

Welcome! It's not easy having a person with a PD in your life. It's even harder when it is your child. The combination of feelings- fear, obligation, guilt - creates confusion in our minds and let's us react irrationally sometimes. Please study the Toolbox and get as much information as you can. You are not alone in this!
I can't hate my way into loving myself.
