I wanted to share this because it has helped me so much in terms of getting clarity about my own feelings and needs as well as those of others, and how to communicate better with everyone in my life. I thought I was a pretty good communicator before, but after taking this, I realized there is so much more to learn.

The Compassion Course is a year-long course which includes an email lesson each week, a monthly zoom discussion call you can join live or watch as a recording, zoom practice groups to practice the exercises and discuss the lessons with other participants,  and a private discussion forum to communicate with others in the class.  You can choose which parts to do, or not do, and most can be done when its convenient for you.

If you are feeling a need to be engaged in a community that values compassion and empathy, and/or need more connection and support, as well as learning and growth in your life, I think you would really enjoy this course.

If you've learned enough about PDs and want to focus on yourself and creating and building healthy relationships in your life (with people who have the capacity for it), then I think you would get a lot out of this. The course will also help you develop clarity about relationships that feel frustrating or difficult. I have been NC for a long time, and this course has helped me reach a new level of peace about those relationships even though I am still choosing to remain NC.

There is a sliding scale fee to enroll, and if you cannot afford the cost, they offer alternatives to paying the fee. They purposely keep the fee quite low because they want to keep this open to as many people as possible. The course starts on June 22, 2022.

I do not work for the course, I am a participant only, and happy to answer questions.

Thank you so much!  It is a very reasonable cost and sounds great for where I am now.  Take care.

I am happy to hear that! I love telling people about this course because it has made such a difference in my life. It is very affordable for the amount of content that is provided. This is another thing I appreciate about the people who run this... they say they want people of any income level to be able to take the course, and they actually do that.

Just wanted to bump this up one more time - the last day to register is June 22nd.

I can vouch for the quality of this course.  It's really good, and Jennifer is right, it's a ton of content for a great price.

Oh that is so cool to know someone from here has also taken it!! It has honestly been one of the most helpful things I've ever learned about.

JenniferSmith, not to put you on the spot but if you're willing, I'd love to hear 2 or 3 main takeaways from the course that you use daily or often.  There is, as you've said, a lot of content and I'm curious how you've used the information.  Only if you want to share....

That is a great question! I would love to hear your answers as well!!

I think a big one for me  is that while I've often felt like I've been in touch with my emotions (sad, angry, etc) that only took me so far.  Learning about the concept of universal needs and how "everything we do, we do to meet a need" opened my mind up to a whole world of exploration behind my feelings. So let's say a friend's actions have hurt me. In the past I might have been stuck there, with a bunch of negative thoughts about myself and them .. Now I can dig deeper and realize that my needs for consideration, support, and trust were not met (as an example).

From there, identifying unmet needs allowed me to start releasing judgement and blame towards others and myself.  I never realized how much pain I have caused myself over my life by being locked into my judgements of others and myself. The course is the first time I learned a concrete and effective way of working with judgement and I am taking that to gradually deeper levels as time goes on.

Essentially I feel the course is healing me on deeper and deeper levels than I've ever been able to reach before. Of course, years of therapy, studying, books, forums like this, meditation practice, etc.. those have all been vital. But this is taking me even further and its a balm for my soul and I can see the effects happening in every relationship in my life, even with the estranged people (the healing is inside me, not with them).

Thanks for passing along this info, and takeaways from the course...
