She has been out of town for the last three days and it has been so peaceful.   I've gotten so much done.  My work is quiet, the kids go to and from their activities, we have dinner, clean up, run the dishwasher, sweep porches, put trash out.   It's quiet and peaceful.
It is unwise to seek prominence in a field whose routine chores you do not enjoy.

Jsinjin,

I am glad for your reprieve. You and the kids deserve that.
Once your cottage sanctuary is complete, this is what life will (mostly) be like.

Sounds like a nice taste of what the future can be.

Did you save what you swept from the porch?   Just kidding but tue freedom to just clean and not have those pressures must be nice.

We recently traded for a new auto.  Today PhD wanted to ride out for errands with me.  I stopped at a store and he ran around to check my floor mat for dust or hair or grass.  On the next stop I drove to see if my garden located away from the house needed water.  He became angry because he was a fraid I would get mud in tue vehicle.  I told him what tue stops were before we left and offered to drive tue other car that my DH uses for work.  He wanted to take the new one to check out the AC on such a hot day.  He looked on the back and saw the outlines of where rain water drops had mixed with dust and insisted we go to a carwash.  I told him since ot was going to rain that that made no since at all.  We had to park in the for these corner of the lot because our ordinary vehicle is somehow a special magnet target for abuse and needs protected.  Then he complained he had sweated walking back to tue car and he did not want to get in like that.

OCD/OCPDcomes in many forms.

So glad you all got some rest from it.
