My H is PD and is at the early stages of Dementia or other form of decline.

There is a bit of data he "needs" to have several times a day.  He had a family member look it up for him on line.

We were all out and about the other day and he was at home.  He called while I was driving and insisted I look it up for him.  I explained I would do it later when not driving..

He went on a rant about how I have time to and talk with my friends and family members while driving so why not him.  Your not asking me to talk was my response.  He continued by pointing out that I was talking to him like everyone else and trying to cut him off.  I said yes talking not testing and typing into Google.

I explained that I can talk with my hands on the wheel and not looking away from the road, but that he was asking me to look at the screen and type while driving.

Finally it kicked in what I was saying.  Then he was like , well call me back as soon as you stop. I informed him that I don't usually have data signal there it would have to wait a little longer.

He snapped by and hung up.  When I got home he wanted about how he was not going to ask any of us for that information etc etc was not with the bother, he could live without it etc etc.

He can remember how to be a PD.

It's something to behold, how their ability to analyze, extrapolate, and understand cause and effect doesn't disappear if it helps them attain their own goals (attention, provocation/aggression, dumping anxiety onto you).

That's right! And that's your cardinal sin, 1foot. How could you possibly treat him like everyone else.

I feel for you. From friends who had parents or partners with dementia I understand that dementia brings out the core personality of a person, for one friend that meant his mother got even sweeter, another's husband got more quiet, with others the inner irritation came out more and was enhanced by dementia induced aggression -  unfortunately I don't think you are going to be on the lucky side of the equation  :fallingbricks:

No I don't think so either.  I am investigating my options for the future.  I need to know what resources are available for when that time comes.
