There he is, that little narc on my project. I raised a concern that we are not doing things the way it should be done. The little narc took offense and sent an email to everybody else on the project telling them no one likes me and that I am incompetent. My manager then forwarded the email to me and then told little narc to be a grown man and in the future if he has any "feedback" for people take it directly with them.

I feel really good about this as my initial thought about this little narc was that he was a narc. The red flag detector is working!

I stand for my belief and if he doesn't like what I do he can ramp it up for he like, my manager is backing me and has already told him to behave. The thing is that the narc is a manager and doesn't know what to do, so he has got the whole project into a mess and continue doing as he says will only make the failure bigger. He is not searching for scape goats, as I spoke up I am the first in line. If he gets me off the project I don't mind as I don't like to be part of failure if I can help it.

I had another project manager years ago, when we visited the customer site the first time he told me off for wearing a tie as that made him look bad to the customer as he didn't have one. A month later he complained to me that I needed to dress better when at the client site and to start wearing a tie. I handed my notice in with immediate effect and never returned.....

I also want to add that had this happened a few years ago I had gone absolutely mad and done anything I could to prove this guy is lying and tried to strike back. But no, I feel quite indifferent to this and I don't really care. He has more to lose than me, it's his project and I am just a hired hand.

Sort of reminds me of a project I was on a few years ago. We had been working with this client for a while and they were great. They hired a new guy to take a role in the project. He was oddly aggressive in the initial emails, despite being new he was trying to frame us as incompetent.

Soon we had a conference call with just me representing my company and a few guys on their end. This little twerp jumped in saying how we messed up all these basic things and clearly had no idea what we were doing. I calmly tried to walk him through one of the so-called issues, but he kept talking over me, over and over. Finally I just said, as dry as the desert,  "can you hear me? Is my mic working?" He stopped and said yes. I resumed my explanation and he immediately jumped in again. I repeated the whole "can you hear me?" and the other guys on his end started snickering.

He shut up, I walked him through the so-called problem, he looked like a complete fool (because his complaint was absolutely ridiculous) and after the call I literally never heard from him again. Off the project, maybe even fired. I didn't bother to even ask.
