I stopped in to see daughter at my ex's house. She was moody and on the couch watching tv. He was out walking the dog but he soon came back. I got up and went to speak with him in the living room about Christmas and some other things.

I always say I can take a day with him, anything beyond that, I'm definitely ready to not see him again for several months... at least. He started in about daughter and how lazy she is just lounging all day on the couch and he doesn't know what to do with her.
First off, she has a job, she's going to school one day a week working on prerequisites to apply for nursing school. And she coaches high school kids on a club travel volleyball team.
Then Christmas and he "had to" Buy her a new laptop that she asked for. She asked me also and I thought for a second maybe my ex and I could go in on it together. Or she purchase it, get a student discount and pay her back. Secretly I said to myself, he'll go out and buy it and that will take me off the hook for something I can't afford. He can't either but he'll buy it anyway because he abuses money and thinks he can buy her love... but also complain about it until his next lifetime.

I'm helping pay for the classes and that's all I can do, I don't have the means for elaborate gifts. And she knows that.
But, he went on and on about how much he's had to buy so far and the attic is full of gifts for both of them. It's a hardship for him and poor guy. Really??  This is what he does.. victim, feel sorry for me. Ugh, so glad I can walk out of there. But always feel major pangs of guilt that daughter has to endure his constant drama, and manipulation.

I wish she would come visit me for at least an overnight. I invite her and she never ever comes.

Thanks just had to do my own rant about him and his behavior concerning our daughter.

Sometimes we gotta vent a little.

It's a terrible dynamic to have to work through. But you've done your part, and now you get to stay away a while, I hope.
