Lostandfound

What does one say?
Son of a narcissistic mother and a departed father. My relationships continue to replicate the familial, irrespective of how much work or thought I put into it. It simply seems to be within another facet of formative neglect.

What is my reality and how much should I trust in it and how much will I acquiesce to their ways? It is all intertwined and I simply wish that I could obtain a perspective that I trusted.

Irrespective of my continued pursuit of understanding I continue to enter into relationships that ultimately are no good and cause me grief.

I don't actually know why I am here, I simply have nowhere else to go.

Welcome! You are not alone.  Many of us have found that we are blind to the warning signs when we meet difficult people because their behavior is normal for us.  It can even feel comfortable. So the real work begins within. Read around on the boards and begin with small changes in your own behavior that seem suitable for your own situation. See you around on the boards!
I can't hate my way into loving myself.

Hi Lostandfound!

Another warm welcome here to Out of the FOG!  We all walk these trails together so you are not alone in your experiences!

Yes, trying to navigate life in the fog is difficult. I suggest you put on your purposeful low yellow lights and drive up to the Personality Disorders tab and start going down the 100 traits list, taking notes on what you read and comparing them to your own experiences.  While you're visiting that tab, mosey over one tab to the right and visit the Toolbox tab.  Stake your tent down at the Toolbox tab.

With your tent securely fastened there, you will be able to use your growing education in discussion, and hopefully over time, the fog will start steady lifting, and you will know exactly why you are here!  😃

I recommend you keep a steady process of learning, practicing and evaluating at the Toolbox tab.  As you hike these trails with please know that we always leave at least one chair open around the campfire discussions at the forum boards.  Make yourself at home, kick off your hiking boots and rest your weary feet around the friendly fires of topical conversation.  See you around the boards!
