I'm moving on; stbx is collapsing

A little over one month since I left stbx-uNPDh of 25 years. I'm moving into my new home this week along with youngest DS21.

Meanwhile, in my absence, stbx allowed an ongoing health condition of his to relapse, and got very sick before finally seeking emergency medical care. He is now apparently recuperating but still at risk-level healthwise. I expected he would struggle upon my leaving. I suspected he was nearing narcissistic collapse right before I left. But I will say I did not expect this. I admittedly got slightly Hoovered back in via texts and phone calls out of concern for his well-being, but I am still out of state and remaining separated from him as I move into my new home and build my new life. I did agree to keep our online counselling sessions for now, but my goal is to mediate the separation, not work toward reconciliation. I don't think marriage counseling is going to give stbx the help he clearly needs (or fix our marriage), but it's the closest he's come to admitting there's a problem.

As for my new home, I'm furnishing it entirely from scratch. It's been a challenging but fun project and the most excited I've felt in a loooong time. And it's mine and DS21's safe haven. ❤️

I'm so pleased for you.

If I could just mention one tiny little thing.
I think he might be using the marriage counselling as a hook.

But hey, onwards and upwards with that new beginning of yours! Very impressive if I may say so.

Great strong update SeaBreeze!  Stay strong and keep resisting the ways that PD's fail themselves, so they continue to play the victim role.  Enjoy the adventure of the move!  You are not alone!
